GOLDMAN SCHOOL OF PUBLIC POLICY, BERKELEY

Type of work involved: Worked on the project presentation and design.
The architecture of the building provides a modern addition to the historic and residential aspect of the School's existing campus structures. The building's more substantial masses, coated in cedar siding and board-formed concrete, react to the size and materiality of the surrounding setting, while major programme features are dematerialized through extensive use of glass. The generous use of wood cladding and screening gives the interior rooms a warmth reminiscent of the ancient campus structure, while also giving abundant daylighting and connectivity to the outdoor areas. We tried to define the horizontal elements with depth of texture and integrate it to the architecture of the building.
LOBBY INTERIORS CONCEPT
